| Whether you are looking around for a church to worship at, hoping to arrange a wedding or christening, doing a bit of family history, or just curious... we are very glad you have found us! St Barnabas Church has been a quiet presence at the heart of Heaton Village for almost 150 years - a beautiful and prayerful space for worship, with a strong choral tradition. We are a small and friendly congregation, which welcomes a wide range of people through our doors: children from St Barnabas Primary School; friends from the many care homes in our community; working professionals; retired folk and the elderly. Our core congregation is made up of older people, and we would love to welcome in a new generation. With our vicar, Rev Clare Maclaren, we are exploring new ways of worshipping, using our building and engaging with our community - looking to the future, whilst cherishing and celebrating the past. Our life and worship is marked by an honour for tradition, as we journey with Christ, addressing the challenges and questions of what it means to be a faithful Christian in the 21st Century.
