St Martin's Parish Church
Haworth Road Heaton Bradford
Renewing Our Building 2005
New Extension>>

St Martin's has long had the forsight to plan its future needs. As soon as the new Church was completed in 1955 it realised the need first for the Narthax and then the Hall.
In 1996 our congregation spent £43,000 to reorder the Church so that the worship here could be as good as we could make it.
In 2001 we raised £26,000 to renew the kitchen and to completely rebuild the toilets. Each task was an enormous challenge but both were very successful.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the new Church we agreed,at successive AGMs, to complete the third phase of our modernisation programme by refurbishing the Narthex and extening the front of the Parish Centre. The aim of this schemeis to symbolise what we are about:Christ our Light cares for all and welcomes all.
We can't do that very easily in a building that looks so grim and inward looking from outside!
